What if I can’t run the entire time that is prescribed on the training plan?
First, try slowing your pace down and see if you’re able to continue. If you still feel that you are unable to jog/run, then walk that portion and try to do the next running portion. It will get better each time! Just give yourself grace and try again!
What if my schedule doesn’t allow me to run on the specified days? Can I move runs around to fit my schedule better?
Yes. That is life and it is likely that you will need to alter the layout of some weeks. Do your best to complete all three walk/runs each week. Ideally, all three will not be on consecutive days. If you can spread them out to give yourself recovery, that would be best.
Can I participate in this program if I do not have a child in Run Hard?
Yes! The Run Hard program and Pace Partner program are two separate programs. The Pace Partner program was designed to support parents who want to run with their child at the Run Hard race. However, any adult who wants to start running and would like to participate in a community 5k or just get on a regular running schedule with no particular race may participate in the Pace Partner program.
Can I participate if I am not located in the midlands of South Carolina?
Yes! The only thing that will not be provided for you are the group runs. There will be a GroupMe chat. You are encouraged to find other people in your location to meet up with for runs. Locals to the midlands are also encouraged to meet up with other participants for runs when there aren’t group runs being hosted.
